McDonald's LPGA Championship, June 5-8, 2008
Havre de Grace, MD
The campaign approached the McDonald's LPGA Championship, during National Headache Awareness Week. Wednesday, June 4 was designated as the first annual Menstrual Migraine Awareness Day. Despite the severe weather that hit Havre de Grace during the tournament, several hundred spectators braved the elements to visit the PARtnering Against Menstrual Migraine booth. 53 women were screened by a physician for menstrual migraine. Again, Dee was able to spend some time at the booth, sharing her menstrual migraine story with spectators and signing autographs.
On Menstrual Migraine Awareness Day, Dee and Suzanne Simons, executive director of the National Headache Foundation, participated in a satellite and radio media tour, which included 21 interviews with television and radio stations across the country, helping to educate women about the prevalence of menstrual migraine and the steps to take to help treat the condition.
